Author Gene Hetzel holds a Bachelors degree in English and a Masters degree in Communications Studies from the California State University San Bernardino. He’s enjoyed a career as a both university instructor and journalist for many years. He’s also an avid gamer with a special love for Magic the Gathering. A native Californian, he lives in the California desert with his dog Louie but enjoys regularly traveling the world to attend conventions surrounding his passions that range from science fiction to security to survivalism to tradecraft.
